The purpose of this group is to move towards collective action within the disabled community. Traditionally, research on mathematics and disability has been conducted from a special education paradigm, which often frames disability as a deficit while ignoring social, discursive, political, and structural contexts. We must take up equity-oriented approaches to understanding disability and its intersections by utilizing frameworks that center disabled voices, perspectives, and experiences. We welcome all who are interested.
