Enhancing Interview Protocols Evaluation: Integrating Topic Modeling With Qualitative Insights

Description

This study presents the process of collaboration of qualitative researchers and quantitative researchers on study teacher knowledge. Middle school mathematics teacher were evaluated under semi-structured interviews about their fraction knowledge and proportional reasoning, then the two research teams worked collaboratively to use both Topic modeling methods and qualitative coding to iteratively interpret the topics that generated from teacher interview data.
