Wed, October 29, 8:45 to 9:30am, Penn Stater Conference Center, Floor: Main Level, 108

Description

This research brief examines the BLIND-XXXX program, a multi-phase professional development initiative designed to cultivate teacher leadership in mathematics. The program combines graduate coursework, National Board Certification preparation, and leadership projects to develop teachers' leadership skills and improve instructional practices. Preliminary findings suggest that the program enhances teacher leadership, fosters the implementation of Mathematics Teaching Practices (MTPs), Student Mathematical Practice (SMPs) engagement, and alignment with National Board certification outcomes. These results highlight the potential of structured professional development programs to drive systemic change in mathematics education and contribute to more quality teaching practices and teacher leadership for Changing Mathematics Education by Educating for Change.
