As first year teachers enter the workforce, who they will turn to advice about teaching? To answer this question, this study seeks to understand (a) who first year teachers turn to for advice about teaching,(b)if these supporters change over the course of the school year, and (c) the reasons why first year teachers turn to these supporters for advice about teaching. The findings suggest that although their advice networks became smaller and more school centric overtime, first year teachers also often turn to peers from their teacher preparation program, as well as online supporters (such as Facebook curriculum groups) for advice about teaching.
