Roundtable: Globalism and Literature

Sat, April 1, 10:30am to 12:00pm, Palmer House Hilton, Floor: Third Floor, Wilson Room

Session Submission Type: Roundtable

Abstract

Global Studies are an important curricular component of an increasing number of universities in the United States and elsewhere. One concept of "globality" behind this academic category is the study of political, economic, and cultural relations between all parts of the world. Nevertheless, the study of globalism in early modern literature in the Iberian Habsburg conglomerate needs some discussion about the scope, the sources, the languages, a curricular reading list, etc.
