Session Type: Paper Session
For North American researchers, evaluating programs and policies for child and youth development outside North America can present unique challenges from standpoints of conceptualization, partnerships, measurement, diversity, and modeling of impacts. This session provides experiences from researchers working in India; Chile; the Commonwealth nations; and a comprehensive synthesis of child development programs in low- and middle-income countries. Methods considered include the development of theories of change; measure development; meta-analysis; and predicted subgroup analysis within both quasi-experimental and experimental evaluations conducted in Commonwealth as well as lo-w and middle-income nations.
