Each of the papers in this symposium examines reciprocal influences between parents and their children. The concepts of interest include child temperament, emotion regulation, and conduct problems; parent personality and anger-proneness, parent supportiveness, physical punishment; and goodness-of-fit. Methodological issues in the study of bidirectionality are also discussed.
