Emotion processes have been systematically studied in young children and have been linked to early indicators of behavior problems and psychopathology. Less work has been conducted with adolescents. In this paper symposium, the role of emotion experience and emotion regulation or coping will be investigated with several samples of adolescents. Gender differences, and the role of parents and peers in this relationship will also be addressed.
