Session Type: Paper Session
This symposium explores the impact parental work conditions have on parent-child interactions and child wellbeing. The papers collectively examine a range of parental work conditions, including job instability, nonstandard work hours, workplace stress, and autonomy, and how they impact children's home environments and early development as a result. Special attention is paid across papers to the role of parental mental health in explaining these associations. Both mothers' and fathers' work conditions are examined.
