Integrative Statement

Biography:
My long-term research interests have been related to discovering factors that lead to underachievement, behavior and emotional adjustment, and health problems in children and adolescents, especially in racial and ethnic minorities. Over the last decade, I have been co-investigator with Mona El-Sheikh (PI) on several NIH funded longitudinal studies following children and their families. The study of children's sleep in relation to risk and protective factors has been a major emphasis in our work, as reflected by the following publications:
