Session Type: Flash Talk Session

Abstract

The developing brain is sensitive to the effects of early life adversity, and early adversity is a potent risk factor for psychopathology. This session will examine the impact of various types of early adversity - including exposure to neighborhood violence, low socioeconomic status, parental job loss, and early caregiving adversity - on brain structure, function, and epigenetic markers. This sesssion use multi-modal approaches to examine biological embedding of early adversity and threat processing during development.
