Using computer technology to expand detection and intervention for children with developmental disorders

Abstract

This flash talk session brings together studies that consider how computer technology can clarity and expand the reach of clinical services for children with developmental disorders. Three talks focus on detecting autism spectrum disorder (ASD) using video-referenced online screening, synchronous telehealth-based behavioral assessment, and automated measures generated by computer vision and audio-signal processing. Another three talks describe and evaluate the implementation of parent-mediated interventions for children with ASD, Prader-Willi Syndrome, and developmental language disorder that use of remote Web-based procedures.
