Developmental Psychopathology Perspectives on Externalizing Behavior Problems Among Young Children

Thu, April 8, 10:00 to 11:30am EDT (10:00 to 11:30am EDT), Virtual

Session Type: Flash Talk Session

Abstract

For many children, externalizing behavior problems develop very early in childhood. From a developmental psychopathology perspective, identifying risk factors and correlates of these problems is essential for understanding developmental trajectories and for developing potential intervention and prevention efforts. The papers in this flash talk session focus on individual, family, and contextual risk factors that predict the onset and course of externalizing behavior problems among young children in infancy, preschool, and up to the age of 5 years.
