Novel Findings and New Methods in Motor Skill Development, Perception, & Learning

Abstract
Developmental changes in independent sitting, crawling, and walking provide new opportunities for children to interact with the world. Acquiring and improving motor skills, in turn, foster improvements in perceptual, cognitive, and language abilities. This session documents factors that influence improvements in motor skills and downstream consequences of these changing skills for perception and learning, as well as methodological innovations in assessing motor skills.
