The impact of stress and coping on development: Measurement and mechanisms

Wed, April 7, 10:00 to 11:30am EDT (10:00 to 11:30am EDT), Virtual

Session Type: Flash Talk Session

Abstract

This group of flash talks examines the impact of different types of stressors (e.g., daily versus chronic) on physical, emotional, and social functioning across infancy, childhood and adolescence. The papers highlight diverse approaches to the measurement of stress in children and their caregivers and describe critical within-person and environmental factors that moderate the association between stressful life experiences and developmental outcomes.
