The development of emotion competence is central to multiple forms of personal and social functioning. Hence, it remains timely to consider the individual differences and environmental influences that shape the early development of emotion competence. This group of flash talks addresses forms of social competence from infancy to childhood, testing individual differences and social influences that shape trajectories of emotional competence across family, peer, and school contexts.
