Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation at ACF/HHS

Thu, March 23, 11:00 to 11:45am, Salt Palace Convention Center, Floor: 1, Hall A-B

Abstract

The Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation (OPRE) is the research arm of the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). OPRE partners with other federal agencies and the broader research community to study ACF programs and the populations they serve through rigorous research and evaluation projects. ACF program partners include the Office of Head Start, Office of Child Care, Office of Family Assistance, Family and Youth Services Bureau, and the Children’s Bureau. Funding opportunities in the form of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements are available for many child-focused topical areas including Child Care, Child Welfare, Head Start, Early Head Start, Home Visiting, and Youth Services. Data sets from OPRE-sponsored projects are available to researchers for analysis. OPRE-funded project teams meet during annual meetings and consortia to collaborate with other researchers, policymakers, and administrators to discuss relevant issues and research findings in a variety of research portfolios related to OPRE-related projects across four divisions. This poster session aims to introduce the audience to OPRE and its plethora of resources and opportunities for conducting rigorous research in early care and education portfolios.
