Session Type: Flash Talk Session
In this flash talk session, scholars will present emerging research that advances and understanding of sibling relationships. Study one examines antecedents and consequents of differential treatment among Turkish youth. Study two examines the implications of sibling relationships for school adjustment among U.S. Latinx youth. Study three identifies 'helping to raise siblings' as one of several factors that Latino unaccompanied migrant youth highlight when describing differences between children's lifestyles in Guatemala vs. the United States. Collectively, the works advance research on developmentally salient experiences of youth from diverse backgrounds, especially sibling relationships.
