Session Submission Summary

STS and the Subject

Fri, September 6, 9:45 to 11:15am, Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, Floor: Four, Bayside B

Abstract

This panel examines psychological, psychiatric, organizational, consumer, and identity discourses related to the production of the subject. Drawing from different approaches like ethnomethodology, ethnography and other theoretical approaches, the panel open possibilities to study diverse phenomena like organizational change projects, applied psychology, therapy, and family system therapy. Such an array of the phenomenon is scrutinized using some of the elements that Science and technology studies had been developing. Whether it is call actor, subject or individual, this panel hypothesizes that STS gives enormous possibilities to understand such production phenomena.
