As we navigate ongoing local and global crises, Muxerista and Jotería Studies offer crucial interventions against what Patricia Williams coined as spirit murder. This presentation reflects on how Muxerista and Joteria scholars, activists, and artists embody resistance, reimagine care, and sustain healing in the face of systemic harm. Drawing from these frameworks, I explore how spiritual resistance and healing become sites of possibility. How do we refuse the disposability of our spirits within institutions that devalue our knowledge and communities? How do our testimonios serve as counterstories to betrayal, exclusion, and violence? By centering testimonios, I honor both the wounds inflicted by systemic harm and the collective healing that sustains our communities.
