Session Submission Type: Panel
The audit committee is the investor’s representative in discussions with the independent external auditor and management about a company’s financial reports and disclosures. Much of what the audit committee does has little transparency to the shareholders, and there has been increased attention drawn to their role and how well they execute on their responsibilities. Center for Audit Quality’s Executive Director, Cindy Fornelli, will moderate a panel discussion about the work that audit committee members do to ensure that the company’s financials are accurately reported, how effectively they perform their duties, proposed changes on how and what they communicate to the investing public, and their interactions with the external auditor.
