2014 Information Systems Section Midyear Meeting and AIS New Scholar Consortium
Please join us for the 2014 Information Systems Section Midyear meeting and 12th annual AIS New Scholar Consortium, which will be held January 23–25, 2014 at the Raleigh Marriott City Center, Raleigh, North Carolina. This joint meeting with the SET section will include a plenary speaker, a pre-conference workshop, a panel discussion, research paper sessions, education paper sessions, and interactive short paper sessions.

The deadline for submission of research and education papers for the conference is Friday, October 4, 2013. Research (including pedagogical research) papers should follow the style and submission guidelines of the Journal of Information Systems (JIS). Instructional cases should be in a format similar to that used in Issues in Accounting Education.

Papers submitted to the Information Systems section will be reviewed with the intention of identifying promising papers that may be suitable for publication in the Journal of Information Systems. The Journal of Information Systems editor will contact authors of identified papers and invite their submission to the Journal of Information Systems. See the Policy and Procedure for Identifying Promising Papers for Publication in the Journal of Information Systems for more information.

Conference submissions are eligible for three best paper awards, each with a $500 prize: (a) best paper (sponsored by KPMG), (b) best case paper (sponsored by the IMA Foundation) and (c) best education paper (sponsored by the IMA Foundation – winning paper must be submitted to the IMA Educational Case Journal (IECJ)). If you submit an education paper, please indicate whether you want your paper to be considered for the last award, which requires submission to the IECJ.

New Scholars Consortium
The New Scholars Consortium enables new scholars (defined as no more than three years after receiving Ph.D.) and Ph.D. students to receive constructive feedback on their research in progress and proposals from successful faculty members in a small group setting. The IS section will provide one hotel night to the first five new scholars who submit a proposal to the Consortium, and the first twenty doctoral students (proposals are highly encouraged, but not necessary to receive the free night). Sharing of rooms is possible to lower lodging costs, please inquire. Submissions are being accepted now through November 15, 2013. All stages of research in progress are acceptable. Please direct Word format submissions and questions to Ryan Baxter: (rbaxter@bentley.edu)

Design Science Research in Accounting Workshop (DRAW2)
The Midyear meeting will feature the Second Design Science Research in Accounting Workshop (DRAW2), hosted by the SET Section. Proposals for the workshop are due November 1, 2013. Workshop details are available HERE.
