Abstract

This paper presents a simple, yet versatile assignment to assist instructors in integrating current/emerging IT topics into an accounting information systems (AIS) course. The purpose of this assignment is to familarize students with emerging information technology (IT) issues of relevance to accounting professionals. This assignment requires students to identify, research, analyze, and comment on a current IT issue relevant to contemporary accounting practice. Each student will be required to submit a concise written synopsis and/or deliver a brief informal presentation during class.
