Organizations are currently investing in social technology to communicate with internal and external stakeholders. The value of and risks involved in these investments merit examination. Seven short, open-ended social technology cases are presented here for use in financial accounting, auditing, or accounting information systems courses. These cases examine the benefits and costs of social technology, and how organizations might manage their new social technology-related risks. The cases can be used in either small group or individual assignments.
