Hyperledger Fabric: A Blockchain for Business

Abstract

Blockchain technology, a distributed and unchangeable digital ledger, was introduced with the cryptocurrency Bitcoin. The technology holds much promise for business use, but the blockchains associated with cryptocurrencies have limitations. Hyperledger Fabric, a blockchain platform developed by IBM and supported by the Linux Foundation, was designed to overcome those limitations. However, Hyperledger Fabric is complex and its documentation is hard to follow. We explain how Hyperledger Fabric works in language business people can understand and extend exhibits from the Hyperledger Fabric documentation to show how this blockchain platform would function in a typical business setting
