Utilization of online assignments and resources in a midwest public university were examined. Prior research has measured the success of technology by student attitudes and performance on assessments. The current study measured time spent on each of several online assignments. Differences in time spent between male and female students and between face to face and online students were analyzed. Marginal significance was found in only a few of many tests. Overall results indicate that no differences exist between male and female students and between face to face and online students in time spent on online assignments.
