Abstract

Accounting Information Systems Curriculum. This poster session will address how AIS and Accounting educators can add hands on learning of accounting software to their AIS and general accounting curriculum at no cost to their college/university. Extensive tools are available for educators at no cost that enable students to gain experience and understanding of accounting information systems. Students can continue learning on a self study or instructor based pace and achieve certifications on various accounting systems while in college. Tools are available to assist educators with course development and adding this coursework to existing curriculum. The presenter has experience adding this academic alliance to her institution and also adding accounting information instruction to her AIS and accounting courses. Mary Kay Copeland, CPA, MBA, PhD would like to share with other educators how to add this valuable educational tool to their coursework. Students with education and certifications in Accounting Systems software are very marketable and in demand.
