Abstract

Tiny particles aligned down the shaft of a graphite golf club greatly increasing the accuracy of the treated club. Tiny particles are woven into a mesh that filters all dangerous toxins out of the air in a military gas mask. Now imagine all these advances virtually free. This is nanotechnology. Today, about 68 percent of the public says it knows little or nothing about nanotechnology despite predictions that the first big impact of it will come in 2015. This article is about the Ascience of the small,@ nanotechnology, in order to introduce CPAs to it=s social aspects, financial issues, accounting treatments, tax implications, and the possibility of a future practice specialization of nanotechnolgy.
