Abstract

Sustainability is a growing issue in the world today and it has become a business strategy for many companies. This presentation discusses how sustainability is a growing part of accounting and how to present aspects of sustainability in the classroom. Topics such as green scorecards, voluntarily prepared corporate social responsibility reports, lean manufacturing, the triple bottom line, ISO 14000 standards, environmental liabilities and capital budgeting will be presented. Also, examples of sustainability from corporations will be discussed.
