The role of technology can play an important role in an accountant’s career life cycle. The purpose of researching this topic is to state how important technology education and training is in the Accounting profession. In today’s world, it can either make you or break you if you are not prepared correctly. It is hypothesized that technology needs to be more intensive and intentional in the accounting curriculum in order for accounting students to be better prepared in the workforce after graduation. The goal of this research is to help others understand how important it is for technology to be included in the accounting major/minor and show how the curriculum can be updated to include technology intensive courses.
