As technology continues to transform the accounting industry, higher education accounting departments face major challenges training and preparing accounting faculty to integrate technology into accounting curriculums and to teach technology enabled accounting courses. The researchers performed an earlier study of an accounting faculty’s perceptions of adapting technology and teaching it in accounting courses, finding many of the participants in the study lacked the experience and skills to identify effective teaching strategies. The purpose of this descriptive case study is to continue to explore the question by examining information technology and computer science faculty’s experiences and perceptions teaching technology courses to identify best practices and strategies that can be applied to develop technology teaching skills for accounting faculty. The IT faculty in this study were from the same organization used by the researchers in a previous study. Based on the findings in this study, the researchers identified several recommendations to build and maintain a competent faculty. These include hiring experienced accounting faculty, developing and training accounting faculty to master technology skills, and leveraging technology tools to support teaching technology in accounting programs.
