Abstract

Students often enter accounting courses, particularly introductory courses, with great trepidation. Setting realistic expectations from the start can help students successfully navigate our courses. There is much that, as instructors, we take for granted about our students. Very often, before we can teach content, we need to step back and teach students how to “learn how to learn” in accounting.
