The use of the scenario principle can improve the attitude of the students in ethics classes. A “scenario” presents information using characters performing activities in a specialized setting. Previous research indicates that applications of the scenario principle have enhanced student’s communication and interpersonal skills, stimulated students’ creativity, and enabled instructors to improve their teaching performance. Accounting educators who have used educational novels have reported improved student enthusiasm and learning performance. The new edition now includes several new ethical situations and an instructor guide for facilitating discussion of accounting ethics and professional codes of conduct.
