This case provides a basic background that many students face when making career decisions. More specifically, the case introduces students to ethical situations surrounding recruiting, a subject of great interest to all students. In order to allow instructor emphasis and to meet varying teaching needs, the case is divided into three separate scenes. The first scene offers a conversation between two students regarding the choice to continue interviewing once an offer has already been accepted. The second scene introduces the incentives to omit or misstate information in a résumé. The third scene discusses the incentive to skip or reschedule an office interview, especially at a company that is lower on the student’s list of preferred job. Each scenario is based on real situations that have occurred and the teaching notes will offer suggestions on how to address these issues with students.
