Abstract

Accounting has manipulated numbers in journals, ledgers, and financial statements for more than 500 years. But now in the computer age there is unprecedented access to graphics and animation. Neither the FASB nor IASB have addressed graphics and animation.
In this session we explore some of the questions accounting faces in entering this new realm:
How many dimensions are there in accounting representations?
How are stock/flow variables presented?
How are positive/negative values presented?
How are circular networks presented?
What level of aggregations should be used?
How is color used?
