The purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of communication medium (face-to-face or Knowledge Management System) and the type of information (positive or negative) to be disclosed on the individuals’ willingness to share information in a collectivist society with face dimension. A large number of studies have been conducted to examine the cultural factors that facilitate or impede the information sharing behavior in two different societies (individualist and collectivist) using a single medium of communication; i.e., face-to-face (FTF) meetings or Knowledge Management System (KMS). The current paper investigates whether there is a difference in the information sharing behavior between the mediums (FTF and KMS) when it comes to sharing private information (positive or negative).
