This qualitative study of five scholars in Japan who publish in two languages aims to identify their preferred writing strategies and text features to fulfill their purposes and perceived reader expectations across languages. Results show expert multilingual writers move beyond transforming knowledge by “crafting knowledge” to connect with their audience.
