8:30-9:30 am “Jeopardy: Editor Wisdom Edition”

Editors from top marketing journals will compete in a fun game of Jeopardy while sharing their wisdom and providing insights on how to publish in top journals in our field.

9:30-10:30 am “Fresh Wisdom from the Other Side”

A panel of recent graduates will discuss how to navigate the job market process and provide tips for surviving the first years as an assistant professor.

10:30-10:45 am Break

10:45-12:25 pm “On the Road to Wisdom: Filling your Tool-Box”:
Participants will select 3 of the following sessions to attend (30 minutes each)

Markus Giesler- Best practices in deriving theoretical insights from qualitative data
Joe Goodman- Trends, issues and best practices in running studies online

Jeff Inman- Writing workshop to advance your ability to develop manuscripts for top tier journals

John Lynch- Improving your experimental designs

Chris Moorman- How to write better reviews and respond more effectively to reviewers

Andrea Morales and On Amir- How to devise and execute field experiments more effectively

Julie Ozanne-- Tips and tools for generating research that has more impact

Stephen Spiller- Testing and interpreting interaction effects, with a particular focus on statistical power

12:30-1:30 pm
“A Word to the Wise: Lessons over Lunch”

Attendees will have the opportunity to sit with faculty members over lunch and ask all their burning questions! The questions you submitted anonymously will be discussed here.

1:30-3:15 pm
“Shark Tank Season 2!”

Back by popular demand! Attendees will work in groups and compete to develop novel, useful research ideas around a particular theme. Faculty will be invited to serve as mentors and judges.

3:15-4:15 pm
“Shark Tank Season 2: Winners Announced and Reception!”

Enjoy a toast for the winners and mingle with students and faculty to close out the day before heading to the ACR Fellows Address!
