Great Expectations: An Examination of the Alignment of Graduate Students’ Expectations with their Professional Experiences

Short Description

Graduate students entering Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) programs have expectations about the relevance of their education to their chosen field and future employment, yet no studies have specifically investigated those expectations. To address this research gap, the session presenters asked IDT students how their expectations aligned with their experiences in the IDT classroom and in the IDT workplace. Findings from the first year of an ongoing study provide insight for administrators and faculty.
