Good eText, Bad eText: Helping Faculty Design Digital Textbooks

Short Description

Emerging multimedia publishing tools remove many barriers that prevent faculty from authoring digital textbooks, free from the confines of traditional publishing. While the tools are readily available, most faculty have little instructional design or multimedia experience. To support faculty, our team of instructional designers, multimedia technologists, and peer faculty mentors share design concepts through examples and nonexamples in a supportive, constructive environment. This presentation focuses on sharing the methods and results from our eText program.
