Promoting Foreign Language Acquisition with Emerging Technologies

Short Description

FL students in the countries where the target language is not the official language are not given an opportunity to experience authentic social and cultural presences within their educational circumstances. Emerging technologies are able to bridge this gap within language instruction. This study is to pilot an innovative technology-enhanced instructional model for FL acquisition and demonstrate FL teachers how emerging technologies help (a) stimulate motivation and investment, (b) establish meaning and form connections, (c) create contexts of real-time interaction, and (d) facilitate the transfer of knowledge to long-term memory.
