Short Description

Debugging is an important computational skill to be integrated into K-12 education. Debugging is a central part of programming, and it involves locating and fixing errors in a program. One way to assess cognitive strategies employed during debugging is with physiological data, such as eye movements. This presentation reports results of a study that used eye movements and cued retrospective reporting to assess early childhood preservice teachers’ cognitive strategies while debugging block-based programs.
