ECET: A proposed framework to guide ethical instructor choices with learning technologies

Thu, Nov 5, 1:00 to 1:45pm EST (1:00 to 1:45pm EST), Virtual AECT, Grand2

Short Description

The complexity of learning software has grown exponentially in recent years, making it difficult to control student outcomes. Much educational software is aimed at protected populations (under-18 learners). Therefore, a central ethical question is whether instructors should use learning software and how best to make that decision. This presentation will present a proposal decision framework to support making pedagogically and ethically sound decisions about why, when, and whether learning software should be used.
