Short Description

Examining fan culture from the perspective of education is still new for China’s educational studies and fan studies. Using the case of Chinese celebrity fans' participation and performance in the current coronavirus outbreak in China, the research will discuss why introducing the approach of connected learning to educators and intellectuals as well as youth’s online communities of interest in China is important and necessary. The research will also discuss the possible obstacles to introduce connected learning based on China’s special socio-political context.
