This study will examine the effect of a system modeling (SM) approach on students conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills among chemical engineering students. Specifically, the current study will investigate the impact of SM instructional strategy on students conceptual understanding of Entropy and problem-solving skills in a chemical engineering course. The study is a mixed method design combining quantitative and qualitative data. The study will use a within-subject research design using a pre-post test of student conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills to determine the effect of the SM intervention.
