Preparing Educators to Teach Culture through Technology: Professional Development in an International Context

Short Description

This presentation introduces a faculty-sponsored professional development program for in-service educators focused on using digital technologies to represent cultural themes that are selected by educators and relevant to a particular curricular area. Educators attend workshops on our university campus before traveling abroad to a host country for two weeks where they practice strategies for collecting and digitally representing cultural themes. Portfolios and findings related to growth in cultural understanding and technology expertise will be shared.
