China has a high fatality rate for child pedestrians, which highlights the necessity of implementing effective safety education addressing risky pedestrian behaviors. Through constructing immersive, interactive, and safe environments, Virtual Reality (VR) technology offers advantages in identifying and modifying children’s misunderstanding on traffic rules and risky behaviors. To identify common risky behaviors and investigate possible reasons, this study recruits 79 children from 3 schools to participate in a fully immersive VR-based pedestrian safety education program.
