In asynchronous online courses, students are not with teachers. Syllabus has become an important source of information for the students. While there are numerous studies about the syllabus design for courses given in a face-to-face classroom setting, the syllabus design for asynchronous online courses is lacking. This study aims at analyzing the factors influencing syllabus design for asynchronous online courses and developing a guideline to help faculty design syllabi for asynchronous online courses.
