Create, Design, and Innovate: Developing Preservice Teachers as Designers of Learning Technologies

Short Description

To develop future teachers’ entrepreneurial mindset in creating, designing, and innovating learning technologies, we designed a four-week “Create, Design, and Innovate” design thinking modules and implemented in the context of an advanced learning technology minor course offered in a Midwest teacher education program. Following the case study method, we collected three reflection prompts from 29 preservice teachers over two semesters. Data analysis revealed progressions in preservice teachers’ conceptualization of “teachers as designers.”
