We share the results of a social network analysis conducted on 4,950 discussion forum posts from 372 students enrolled in a MOOC to identify the linguistic qualities that are indicators for posts demonstrating high levels of either prestige, prominence or interaction. Our analysis combines the text analysis of posts using LIWC and social network analysis via NodeXL. Our findings contribute to the body of knowledge of student engagement and activity within MOOC discussion forums.
